Young Adult

Young adults experience dramatic changes during this important period of their development.  Entrance into adulthood marks a critical time when individuals make important choices that set the foundation for the remainder of their adult lives.  During this stage of life, most young adults obtain education and training which leads to future job opportunities and career choices.  This is also a time when relationships become more intimate and lasting.  While this stage of development holds many exciting opportunities, there are also many challenges.  For young adults with social and emotional difficulties, this period of transition from adolescence to adulthood can be daunting.  These young adults often experience social isolation, lower academic achievement or higher incidences of psychiatric problems.  All of these difficulties are linked to lower school graduation rates, fewer employment opportunities, less financial independence and poorer interpersonal relationships.  If you are concerned about your young adult, you may wish to consult with a counselor or psychologist.  Physicians and school personnel can also be valuable resources.

At the Triumph Center, our mission is to help young adults lead healthier and more successful lives.  We understand that every young adult has unique gifts and challenges, so we work closely with our young adults to identify and build on strengths, while offering strategies to help them overcome common challenges.   We offer supports through social skills groups, counseling, consultation and a summer therapeutic camp.  Our services may benefit young adults who are struggling with the following issues or concerns:
